I do have a general idea of what might look good or bad. Even so, it is hard to say without actually seeing it in practice. Thus, I feel the safest place to start in terms of attire would have to be the most conservative. But if he is going to wear them in an unfashionable manner while in public, I have no desire to see it. Mind you, the same goes for women, as they are sometimes just as guilty. In fact, some women may be even worse—since they are women, they think they can get away with anything.
Fashion considerations aside, I am sure that some men would have great legs in pantyhose. I mentioned my husband because there is a certain duality with my attitude towards pantyhose-wearing men. Do I find my husband appealing? Even in pantyhose? Yes, but not because he is wearing pantyhose. True, I happen to think my husband looks really good in pantyhose. Thus, in the privacy of our own home, he looks good in virtually any kind of pantyhose.
Admittedly, I am sure a lot of my biased perception stems from the immense love we have for each other. So, is this a double standard? Absolutely not! It is completely natural to be wholly enamored with the one you love.
Traits that you look upon with ambivalence in other people are seen under a very different light with your loved one. That is the nature of love; it cannot be rationalized. If you truly love your partner, you will know exactly what I am talking about. And, if you are completely committed to your spouse, nobody will light your fire in quite the same way that he or she does. On a final note, I must point out to pantyhose-wearing men who have accepting wives that there is a difference between loving your wife, and loving your wife because she wears pantyhose or accepts your wearing of pantyhose.
This is something I hope to address in a future post. Every week I put out a newsletter with tips and stories about living the authentic life. Subscribe here:. My wife knew I was a crossdresser when we were married. She does not participate or encourage me in any way. Some people hate change and thrive on resisting it. Have you ever seen someone wearing goth clothing or an overwieght, out of shape, woman wearing a 'Britney Spears' type of outfit.
Those people must have been compfortible, but again, not everyone takes to it. Stay true and honest. I know a guy that does I made fun of him a couple times when he wore them, but then i felt really bad.
You should do what you want to do and not be judged. I personally hate the feel of them. My mom use to make me wear these thick leggings when i was young and it was too cold outside.
They were kinda scratchy and itchy. I usually just go with out if im dresssed up. I would think you were crazy. Not because you're a man and you want to wear them, but because you think they feel good. They are the most uncomfortable things ever invented ok maybe the most after very high heels with pointy toes.
I think they are torturous and avoid them when possible. We have 5 children together. I had known for the better part of those 20 years that he liked to wear pantyhose - not in public, but more as a "turn-on" factor. I've never felt comfortable with this. Total turn-off! That's not the only reason we split, but I could never get back with him. I just do not love him anymore and he totally repulses me. I am a man that loves wearing pantyhose and my wife supports it and even talked me into wearing them in public.
I am far from gay and am as manly as Larry the Cable guy, theres just something soothing about the smooth silky feeling covering my legs From My experiance some women love it and some get used to it and some thinks your gay but its ok for then to take our shirts and boxers and there not gay.
L ol oh god, this is why I love the internet. I am a woman, and I avoid them at all costs. Which is to say I don't care what people think, they're uncomfortable, irritating and probably the most annoying invention ever. I don't care what gender you are - if you think pantyhose are comfortable or sexy, you're out of your mind!
Ruby Doomsday. I hate wearing them myself. I am a staight and married male who loves the feeling of pantyhose. I know most women find this weird and yet do not take into consideration what we as males see. Did you ever notice how you women really enjoy dressing sexy? Your clothes both look and feel sexy. Just look at the clothing males wear. Do they look like they feel sexy and smooth? No they are neat and functional at best. I put on a pair of pantyhose or more and I immediately feel alive as the soft silky materials caress my skin.
Ever notice how much fun you gals have trying on clothes? Try our clothes and see if it is still fun. I would rather be with you trying on your outfits than ours. You see we are not gay, weird, or perverts. We just want to feel and look sexy like you. Nylon, shaved legs and pumps feel and look great on both of us. For the record my wife feels te same as most women it is a turn off for her. She says she does not want someone who feels like another woman.
Sounds like too many years of stereotyping men in wool slacks and oxfords to me. So come on ladies if you haven't tried talk your man into wearing some sexy clothing you have and see if it isn't fun. I can also tell you from experience that it will make even the most rugged man more gentle and understanding.
It still amazes me how that happens. So ladies let me know what you think. I used to date someone who liked to wear them. Herego, as soon as I saw him in them I threw him out of my house.
He also used to like to try on my panties too. Unless you are making millions off an endorsement, I think it's a little fruity. M y girlfriend enjoys it when I wear my pantyhose with her. While lounging around the apartment, she likes to rub my leg and it recalls a pleasant memory of rubbing her mother's leg as a small child.
While having sex, she likes my increased enthusiasm. Mostly, she enjoys me wearing my pantyhose because she loves me and knows that it is something I enjoy.
She is able to ignore the social disapproval and the ignorance of closed minded people. All that really matters is that nobody is harmed, and she and I had discussed things fully and deeply beforehand.
I f woman like wearing trousers or pants, what's wrong with men wearing tights or pantyhose? Is it a crime? I cannot believe so many woman on here are such conformists and narrow-minded. Are you all mentally scarred at the thought of man in a pair of pantyhose? In reading the comments on here I can only surmise If you found out your man was wearing a pair of pantyhose you would flea for the hills and ask for an instant divorce.
Which leads me to believe you never truly loved the person in the first place. It's only a pair of pantyhose for Pete sake! I wear tights for sport - running tights in winter Adidas and Nike make them. They feel great and have the practicality of keeping your legs warm on cold winter days.
Was a bit embarrased to wear them at firts but now I wear them running and cycling all the time and nobody who I pass looks twice. It's becoming more acceptable for sure! J ust so long as you get your own. I don't want mine stretched out! Naw seriously good for you! I think it's great when men wear pantyhose, it shows they have a lot of style, not to mention it's getting to become the latest fashion trend. So, ladies watch out!!! Also, in the winter it gets very cold and nippy, so it's a great way to keep warm, and they are not that expensive people.
Trust me, I have enough. Men should wear them more often, but no need to shave legs. W hen women wear pantyhose it's mostly about exposing legs and beauty of them.
The best shaped men's leg is not as pretty as an average woman's leg. Men with their big knees and often muscular legs just dont fit in that kind of market - for now. If I wear them in public very rare , I show nothing more than just calves, and I think it's ok. W ell I must be out of the loop. I never heard of men wearing pantyhose. I must say if I dated a man and found him wearing pantyhose it would be the last date.
Sorry it is just how I feel. I 've only known men who wore them while riding motorcycles under their leathers and in the olden days before silk underwear and the new fibers they did id also to keep warm while wearing something thin. But I don't know about a guy wearing them because they feel good. Most women hate wearing them because they are annoying, inconvenient, make you too hot and run.
I quit wearing them because they give me rashes on hot humid days and I just can't keep up the expense. I'd rather have natural legs, well taken cared for of course, not definitely naked I hate them and quite honestly, it'd weird me out if my man wanted to wear them.
I dislike them completely. But you like the feel of them and enjoy them then go for it. Sketchy Mess Jeoffory. I 've known guys who wore them to go hunting to keep their legs warm. My sister in law once noticed that all her hose were disappearing- apparently my brother had stolen them to wear to the woods during hunting season.
I like men who wears pantyhose and are not afraid to say it. It feels good to have my mans legs rub against mine when he is wearing his pantyhose. Go for it and be happy. Danya Awamleh. I think women love pantyhose and wear in public to show off. They love the fact they can wear without underwear and feel the nylon against theit lady parts and more most be a total turn on!!! Janelle Hobbins.
L ike Paige said Open the phone book where u live and call a Psychologist or Psychiatrist. Make the first appointment that is available!
I hate pantyhose and think they are uncomfortable. If a man wants to wear them, he can go ahead, butI don't want to see them! I think it would be weird. I really have no opinion about this personally. But I do think people should be able to dress however they like, regardless of what other people think. It started a couple of years ago when she was complaining about hose, saying that they were uncomfortable and such.
Now I wear panty hose most every day and it amuses her a great deal. Kiwi girl aka jeanie I am a man I wear Pantyhose because I have circulation problems in my legs and was told to do so by my Doctor! Tell the truth how many of you Ladies either date or are married to a man who wears earrings? G o ahead if you want.
But I don't see the reason why you love the way they feel. They're scratchy. They don't breathe. And despite those facts, they aren't sturdy at all. You would have to have tough skin to wear pantyhose and like it. Your skin must be as coarse as linen. S ad to say most women hates PH, and therby also hates men in them :- So sad, Could have been a lot of common pleasure P ersonally, if my boyfriend wore them i'd be really turned off.
I'm really in to the whole manly aspect and I enjoy him being masculine, and myself being feminine. I've dated a bisexual before and they always lead towards speaking about guys when i'm dating them. I'm not homophobic at all, I just don't like being roped in to those situations. I'm a guy and I remember first putting on a pair of my mom's hose when I was about I don't know why, but I did, and have liked them ever since. More recently, since I've moved to a place that gets cold in the winter, I enjoy them because they are a good first layer to keep warm yet are 'light' on the skin.
And guys, yeah, shave the legs if you're gonna wear hose! It looks horrible and nasty with hair all squished down under them. W hat you do, is what you do, but let me see MY man in a pair. He is soo out the door.
I can't deal with that, next thing I know he will be wearing my bras and stuff. That is no good! I think its weird. S ince i work a lot outside, i wear pantyhose in the winter under my long johns as an extra layer. But it has to be absolutely frigid out for me to do this. They are not very comfortable, but they do keep you warmer in frigid temps. Anyone who would wear them under shorts when it is warm out has rocks in their head.
Sexy birdy. I 'm a 28 year old woman, and I don't find anything wrong with men wearing pantyhose. If a man feels comfortable, confident and better about himself while wearing them, then he should have that right.
It's just like me,I feel better about myself when I wear pantyhose to work, the grocery store and to church, Catholic Faith. I don't see any abnormality about it,just because they're designed mainly for women doesn't mean that guys cant enjoy the comfort of wearing them! I 'm a 32 year old married father of 2, former U. Marine, and someone who is quite comfortable with my masculinity, and I wear hose every day, including with shorts in public.
I've been doing it for about 3 months now, and I guess I really don't care about what others think. I started wearing them for the support to promote circulation and reduce pain and swelling in my legs and ankles because I drive 11 hours a day for a living. BTW, not too many of us are old enough to remember the days when women wearing pants was considered scandalous.
Some—many—men are wearing mantyhose for very legitimate reasons and knee jerk reactions against it have to be examined for what they really reveal about the people making them.
Thank you. Hi Steve, First of all, thank you for your kind words about how I handled the interview. And, I want to be clear with the readers, it was not your site that neglected to show up for their interview…just in case anyone is wondering.
While it is liberating as a woman that I can embrace a more masculine look, what does it say about women when a man embraces what is perceived as a more feminine look and gets called things that are negative? Lastly to your point about the inequality that is so blatant yet often not acknowledged and also the negative reactions that people have when they hear that men wear pantyhose, this I realized while taping the show: What stymies me is how enraged people get when others do things that make them uncomfortable.
Why do we care so much? Why do we get uncomfortable, angered, judgmental, twitchy??? Why do we care? What is it in us that causes that reaction? I mean, when you look at it on the surface, men are wearing pantyhose…is this really something that should elicit SUCH a reaction??? Not really…yet it does. Your reply is dead-on, Bridgette. If you would like to go there and paste it in, be my guest, or, I could do it for you with your permission.
My apologies for only replying now to this. I was dealing with a major spam issues and a lot of good comments got caught up in it. Of course, feel free to post my comment!!! Thanks Steve! I want to thank you for this informative show. A number of years ago, I had a very serious case of varicose veins.
It had gone to the point where I was having ulcers on my legs. After having my initial procedures I was quite leery to wear my compression stocking out of fear of being thought that I was a pervert. My doctor had to talk with me several times to convince me that it was to my own personal advantage to wear them for my health.
I eventually conceded to the thought. Since then, I have gotten over the fear of what others may think. I now wear often with shorts, especailly during the warmer months. Once in a while I will get an eye drop, or a swivel head, but thats ok.
My main thing is showing others that it is ok to wear hosiery no matter the reason. We all know that an item of clothing does not make a person gay any more than swiming makes us a fish. How many homosexuals want a person of the same sex to look like a member of the opposite sex? Once the stigma is reduced or gone, there will be more sitings and many more will be open to the idea of wearing for health or fashion style.
Keep your tights on! Happily married man with 4 wonderful children, MarK C. Do such men secretly want to be seen, is this some sensual trip they are going on?
Equality, yes, but feminized men? Even on discussion boards where the oddball community is moderated away, the sensual element is not far from the surface. Who are you directing your comment to? That was the reason for my broadcast, to shed light on the topic and call out the behaviors of some who choose not to understand it or who need justification in order to accept it.
I am thankful your 2 guests had the courage to come on the show. Should a guy let it be known that he likes to wear pantyhose, he is automatically stigmatized. Go screw yourself. I started wearing at 4 or 5 years of age. I would wear in bed under the covers.
I just liked the way they felt so good. When I reached puberty I was aroused by the feeling. Since I reached my thirties I no longer consider them a sexual thing. I wear everyday and to me they are the most comfortable piece of clothing I wear.
They give me warmth in cold weather, support for my achy legs and finally the sensation of wearing relaxes me. Nick, I completely understand that any person on planet earth is and should be entitled to their opinion. I wear my running tights underneath a pair of shorts whilst running in the morning, right up until perhaps lunchtime if I choose to do any errands thereafter. There is a level of modesty that is required if so however, I believe it should apply to everyone choosing to wear form-fitting lycra in public and if anyone shows any signs of judgement: positive or negative, I might feel slightly self conscious just as much as I am flattered to think that they have taken the time to make any form of acknowledgement full stop.
You see, I have always suffered hugely from insignificance and as a result trained myself not to take negative attitudes on board…. It only took me 39 years.
Bridgette has it right on. The fault lies with those of us who conceal the fact that we wear this garment. By doing that we automatically invoke the reaction that we are doing something secretive and behind closed doors. However having said that being open and honest about it is very difficult to do in this society. For many many years I concealed the fact that I wore pantyhose from the one I love for fear that she would reject me if I told her.
I absolutely did not want to upset her in any way. However that fear was completely unfounded. She had known for years and was wondering why I had not told her. She does not wear pantyhose very often but if she sees the brands that I like on sale she will often purchase for both of us. While I have not worn pantyhose with shorts as Steve is frequently pictured doing it no longer bothers me if my leg wear is visible or not.
As any woman knows, wearing pantyhose with leg hair looks ghastly — even worse for a man as the hairs cause the pantyhose to slide down the leg — so I regularly have my legs waxed professionally by women and most surprisingly get very positive comments. I have noticed more and more men with hair free legs and it is becoming normal to the point where neither women nor men give a second look.
When more men show their leg wear it will become normal which is Brigettes major point. The problem lies with the wearers. Just wear what you like and society will adjust — it always does. Thanks for a very thought provoking article and comments from all above. It has made me reconsider my reluctance to wear pantyhose without pants over the top of them. I would make one final point that there are major health benefits to wearing pantyhose.
Mostly I wear the type that has a graduated compression feature and these are great for long flights or sitting in the car. So live longer — wear tights. My name is Charlie and I like wearing pantyhose. To tell you the truth pantyhose is not enough for me, I love wearing skirts and blouse. It is such a fantastic feeling…. This has nothing to do with crossdressing, though it does border it to a certain degree. As an open minded individual, I have nothing against crossdressers, but in this instance, respectfully, crossdressing has nothing to do with what the main topic is about.
No one needs to know what you are wearing, most people would rather know as to WHY you are wearing. This is something we in my community are trying desperately to break.
I believe that the fetishism associated with men who wear pantyhose is a result of the secrecy. I believe if all men who like hosiery were comfortable enough to wear them publicly, then pantyhose would become just another garment. Instead, most boys are ashamed of themselves when they discover how much they like the fabric or the look of pantyhose.
From what I have read on the Internet, I believe most guys start wearing before they reach puberty. I believe it becomes sexual later when two secrets collide. Exactly, Joey! Go the other way round: Ask women why they wear tights! First answer would be cool.
Very natural. But this answer is unlikely. Second answer would be regrettable. Poor women! Puppets on a string. Nobody wants that. Third answer will be the dominant. Which is great! Which is apparent. And there we go! Do men NOT have the right to feel good in tights? Sexy, attractive, erotic? Oh yes, they have!
So what do we all get wrong? We have an image of men that is totally spoiled. Entirely us, men and women. At first I think it was a a fetish thing but after the thrill wore off, I found myself just wearing them under my pants every day. My wife knows and supports me fully. She has even told me that she would rather me wear pantyhose than not.
She is the only one that knows I wear them, I would love to wear them with shorts in public, but I just have not. I get nervous and think it would just be easier to cover them up, instead of having to explain myself if anyone questioned me.
Maybe someday I will and just not care what others think or say. Thank you for the show and your good intension. Here is my story. Sometimes mom would see me and she reacted normally. Once I tried to put them on a naked body. It was very pleasant. And then probably some years later I remember I put them on pants, then on naked body and after some minutes I got a strange new feeling.
Later I repeated and it turned into intensional masturbation with pantyhose. I forgot it for some time, but occasionally would try again. Pantyhose became a strong erotic object. There was long time I forgot this habit, but then it started again.
Now I am over 20, sometimes I buy pantyhose with big exitement and run home to unpack and put them on. It ends with masturbation. Then with sincere wish for liberation from habit I through them away. Then buy again. By the way, I tried to convince myself that I want to really wear pantyhose and sometimes I tried to put them on for entire day, and I put some on winter as an excuse for cold weather, but it always ended with masturbation, after which I no longer wanted to wear them.
So wearing would always had erotic roots for me. I also like women wearing pantyhose, I buy pantyhose to my girlfriend, like to speak about pantyhose, touch and feel different kinds of fabrics. I have no erotic fixations on objects, but your fetish pantyhose is totally harmless. Who cares if you masturbate with them on?
Just enjoy your life and if that includes the occasional yank to leg wear, so what? Very true. I too like to wear pantyhose, to talk about pantyhose and to wear them when I can. Like you it ends up with masturbation. I am a normal man who likes the feel and looking at pantyhouse.
