Chrono trigger how many ending are there

Afterward Frog, Magus, and Schala are seen doing a number of different things with the events of Zeal Kingdom such as Schala summoning Lavos without the heroes getting involved.

Frog accepts his new life as a hybrid and the other heroes live out their days, while Magus enters the Ocean Palace to face Lavos. Alternatively defeat Lavos after getting kicked out of Antiquity, but before the Ocean Palace. This fun ending shows what happens when the heroes mess with historical events. The game shows the beginning of the game playing out again, except everyone is a Reptite instead of a human. This is a result of the heroes never stopping Azala or creating the events that led to the Reptites destruction meaning they took over the world and wiped out humans.

It was a clever butterfly effect-type ending that stuck with players for a long time. To get this ending use the right Telepod before fighting Azala, but after confronting Magus. This quirky ending shows Marle getting strange comments from townsfolk about her supposed costume. Some found the ending funny, while others were disturbed by the dual nature Marle must now live with.

To get it, simply activate the right Telepod after the AD trip before the heroes go to the End of Time. This ending is notable because it completely shatters the fourth wall. After defeating Lavos the player finds themselves in the End of Time and the makers of the game, represented as various characters, interact with the player.

This article is a list of endings for Chrono Trigger and its remakes. No matter what, all game endings revolve around fighting Lavos. The manner in which you face it and the point in the storyline in which you do changes the ending you see. For all but the Ocean Palace, winged Epoch, and Telepod fight modes, there is a Gate that appears in Lavos' interior, granting you a respite before fighting the core.

These endings are listed in the order they appear in the in-game ending browser of Chrono Trigger DS with the exception of the bad ending, which is listed first. This ending allows you to witness, in real time, the events recorded on the computer in AD. Lavos erupts from the ground and sprays flaming spines into the air, which rain down, causing untold destruction.

The view shifts to a command center in one of the domes, where the administrator assumed to be an ancestor of Doan watches helplessly as the computer monitors the destruction. The military gives up and flees, and Lavos' fire consumes the world. After this, a sentence appears on the screen in a large font that reads, " But Crono and the others return to AD, where Crono learns that his stay of execution has been canceled.

He goes to Guardia Castle to meet with the king, and Marle pleads on his behalf. However, the king has been made aware of their quest thanks to Lucca. They are then met by a group of people from across time - Kino , King Guardia XXI , and Doan - revealing themselves to be Marle's ancestors and descendants.

Afterward, everyone attends the Moonlight Parade on the last night of the Millennial Fair. Crono and Marle can move around and visit with people in Leene Square. Afterward, they go to the northern square, where the rest of the group awaits near the Telepods , preparing to return to their own times. And with the Gates closing for good, they will likely never see each other again.

If you use the Epoch to destroy Lavos' shell, the closing of the Gates means that there is no way to travel through time any longer. Crono and Marle return to the square to see the King hanging up Nadia's Bell.

Crono and Marle help him, but get stuck holding the balloons that were transporting the bell. With Crono hanging onto the balloons and Marle in his arms, they float off into the night sky as the credits roll. After saying goodbye to their friends, the Gate begins to close, leaving Crono, Lucca, and Marle in the present.

At the last second, however, Crono's cat s comes running around the corner, chased by Crono's Mother. She dives into the Gate after the cat, which promptly shuts behind them. Without a moment to lose, Crono runs off to board the Epoch to chase after her.

Marle leaves her father to hang the Nadia's Bell by himself. Depending on whether or not you rescued the Chancellor during the Rainbow Shell quest, the King will be aided in hanging up the bell by the Chancellor or by Pierre , Crono's lawyer, respectively.

This timeline change affects the rest of the game afterward, with Lucca's mother Lara walking around their house doing chores instead of just sitting in her room.

This also applies to the ending. You'll show up at the Millennial Fair again, talk with Lucca as usual, then the whole party will show up and chase Gaspar into a time portal if you didn't already have the egg.

You'll decide to search for Crono with the Epoch, and Marle will leave her dad hanging while he's trying to place the bell. The last scene will be Crono running out of the mists of Death Peak to meet Marle. You'll show up at the Millennial Fair again, where your party members will mysteriously show up, and Lucca will inform you that she's turned the Telepod into a time machine.

If you don't have the Time Egg she'll transport Gaspar to your time to give it to you. Your whole party will head off to rescue Crono, while Marle stays behind and helps the king with Nadia's bell. She'll float up on the balloons and end up at Death Peak, where Crono runs to meet her out of the mist.

Similar to the variation with Magus, if you don't have the Time Egg, your party will pop out of the gate and start chasing Gaspar at the End of Time. You may not recognize one of your party members however, since Frog will be in human form with the Masamune strapped to his back and with long green hair, Lucca will comment on how handsome he is, and the ending will proceed as usual with Marle waiting on Death Peak. This ending will be basically the same as the variation with Magus only Magus won't be included.

There are actually two ways to get this ending, which are the two toughest ways to fight Lavos. You can either beat him at the first Ocean Palace fight before Crono dies, in which you're expected to lose, or you can challenge him at the very beginning of the game. If you choose the Ocean Palace route, you can have any characters in your party but Magus, just make sure you have your best equipment since the first fight will be harder than usual.

The later fights are the same as normal. If you choose to fight Lavos at the beginning of the game, you can do it with or without Marle depending upon whether you enter the right Telepod right away or whether you try out the Telepod first and do it with Crono alone.

You can fight Lavos with Crono alone if you want, but there's no real reason not to take Marle, so you might as well. Hopefully you're at a high enough level where this is a piece of cake. You'll get to talk to the programmers in the coolest exposition of a credit sequence ever, then be treated to a rapid fire scroll of the credits to complement your breezing through the game. Challenge Lavos using the Telepod as soon as you come back from A. You'll only have Marle and Crono in your party, so make the best of it.

You'll pop out of the Telepod again only to find out you changed history in a bit of a froggy way. With this ending, you will see Crono, Marle and Lucca go to the castle. The king and his daughter will hop like frogs. Use the bucket at the end of time when you first get there, or at any point before returning to A.

A Nu, a frog, and eventually a Kilwala will cavort on screen while the credits roll. All things begin and end with Nu, don't they? Beat the game during your second trip to A. After a few scenes with Robo in the future, Tata will challenge Magus's castle and find some unusual company. Beat Lavos after you get the hero medal and before visiting 65M B.

You'll see a bunch of scenes showing the villagers in 65M B. Beat Lavos after you return from your first trip to 65M B. This ending is probably the worst out of the bunch, it just shows a few sprites in between showing the credits. Beat Lavos after giving the mended Masamune to Frog, but before confronting Magus.

You'll start out at Lucca's house with her fixing Robo, and Frog will go to Magus's castle to take care of some unfinished business.
