How does foxface die in the hunger games

I have thought of this before and I am sure much of you know of this question. Did Foxface commit suicide? I am here to discuss if Foxface actually killed herself. Most likely, yes. I will explain the factors that have led to this conclusion so hopefully you are still reading this. Foxface was a smart person, she was also sly and elusive.

Katniss, herself, said that if all the tributes took a test Foxface would've been the smartest. Foxface ran away from the cornucopia so she did not have any weapons or food. So I am just going to get to the main point. Foxface was an incredibly smart tribute, who did amazingly good at the edible plants test.

The capitol did put nightlock in the test. So she did know about nightlock. She killed herself. Foxface knew that her friends and family couldn't bear to see her die a painful and bloody death. She saw an opportunity to make it look like her death was an accident and she took it.

She also fooled Katniss and Peeta in the process. If a tribute kills themselves in the arena, the capitol will kill their family and I'm sure Foxface did not want that. Have a good day and stay safe. A comment on the not real side: There must be medcine for nightlock.

What if that was something she stole from the careers. She could have made the cameras think that she thought it was water or something, drank it, and then have eaten the nightlock, waited to be sent back to her district, and ran from there!

Aug 09, AM. I think Suzanne Collins wanted to find a clever way for foxface to die, and it was clever, I think it was an accident because foxface was in the top 4 I don't think she would give up without a fight. She was probably just saw berries was starving and thought that if peeta had them they would be okay but they weren't. Aug 09, PM. She could have made the cameras think that she thought it was water or so I definitely think it was suicide. If she was really as smart as Katniss says she was, I think she knew she had no chance of winning and decided nightlock was better than a brutal death by Cato or someone else. And the movie also strengthened my point too. I know we shouldn't trust the movie as much because of some of the differences but in the Training Center, she was even shown matching plants so I think it was definitely suicide.

I think it was an accident. Foxface was very clever, but she was from Five; we don't know what their industry is but it probably has nothing to do with poisonous vs edible foodstuff. Remember what Katniss said, she's been so careful not to underestimate her opponents that she overestimated them.

Although she was smart enough that it could have been suicide.

And one thought was that a couple of years ago, in a previous Games, a boy from 5 commited suicide, and his family was shunned. So Foxface made it look like an accident. I personaly can't decide. Think about it. Which would you choose? Painful death by arrow.

Katniss 2. Painful death being strangled. Cato 3. Peacful death. I chose four. That was really funny. But what if there wasn't a fourth option? You are honestly not making any sense. FallingAngels is saying that she was smart.

She knows she was practically given the choice of brutal death or something instantaneous and not painful so it would make sense. She knows she was practically given the choice of brut BTW Foxface took some cheese before the berries.

That's what I believe Gracieface is saying. Thanks again. That's exactly what I was trying to say! FallingAngels wrote: "Haha! It's called win the games.

Oh that. But how would the cheese be poisoned? It's from the Capitol. They wouldn't send that. They found the berries in the arena. One day I'm going to have stop joining these duscussions.

Later on during the Games, she was spotted by Katniss at the Cornucopia near the Careers ' camp. After skulking around to make sure she was unidentified by any of the other tributes, Foxface made a variety of movements, which Katniss describes as a dance sequence. Katniss soon discovers that the area was booby-trapped with land mines. In the book, Foxface had a close encounter with death as she landed wrong and squealed, but she instantly kept going.

Foxface demonstrated her cleverness by figuring out the path into the Careers' pyramid of useful supplies, reaching the bulk of supplies, taking a small, unnoticeable amount of supplies, and then running back to the safety of the woods.

Katniss noticed a bag of apples hanging on the pyramid, which could well be some of the apples Foxface took from a burlap sack, and fired three arrows at it; the bag of apples ripped apart, fell, and set off the land mines.

It caused a huge explosion after and destroyed all of the supplies. This resulted in the destruction of the Careers' supplies, and the District 3 male 's death by Cato 's hands. In the ruins of the explosion, Katniss saw Foxface laughing as she was able to find a knife blade and a metal pot. At first, she didn't understand why but later came to the conclusion that with the Careers supplies destroyed, Foxface realizes that she might actually stand a chance of surviving.

At one point, Katniss thought of the possibility of letting her into the alliance she had built with Rue but quickly dismissed the idea due to the fact if she did, Katniss would only earn herself a knife in the back.

After several days in the arena, all the remaining tributes needed something desperately. Due to this, it is announced by Claudius Templesmith that there would be a feast. Foxface, as well as the other tributes, prepared herself for the upcoming event. When the other tributes arrived at the feast, Foxface was already well hidden within the Cornucopia. When the table rose from the ground with the bags containing each of the tributes' items that they "desperately needed," Foxface didn't waste her time with battle; instead, she sprinted out, took her bag, and quickly evacuated the area.

She was not attacked, as the other tributes feared to confront each other, and she was very quick. Katniss was both impressed and angry that she had not come up with a plan so risky and devious. Katniss pulled out one of her arrows to shoot at Foxface, but let her grab her backpack and flee back into the woods. Foxface's green pack most likely contained food, as her strategy was to stay hidden and avoid any confrontation between any of the tributes.

Throughout the games, she managed to survive by scavenging, foraging and occasionally stealing from other contestants. This strategy worked until she unwittingly stole and ate poisonous nightlock berries from Katniss and Peeta.

Katniss and Peeta find her body holding nightlock berries. She died after stealing and eating the berries that Peeta had collected. Katniss believed that if Peeta had known about the poison and was attempting to trick Foxface, she would have known not to eat them and could have won.
